Ezgi Yazici

Evans Hanson Fellow
Ezgi Yazici is the Evans Hanson Fellow and Turkey researcher at the Institute for the Study of War. Ezgi leads ISW’s research efforts on Turkey and Turkey’s military and political activities abroad. She received her Bachelors of Arts in International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from Tufts University where she also studied Arabic. Ezgi wrote her undergraduate thesis on the Turkish political and military intervention in northern Syria and published a paper on the de-facto Turkish control in northern Syria in Tufts University’s Undergraduate Journal of International Affairs. At ISW, Ezgi previously managed the planning and execution of the Hertog War Studies programs for summer and fall 2020 as the programs transitioned into online education. She also served as Dr. Kim Kagan’s executive officer.
Prior to joining ISW as a full-time staff member, Ezgi worked as a Turkey research intern at ISW and is an alumna of ISW’s 2019 Hertog War Studies Program. Ezgi is originally from Istanbul, Turkey.
