Johanna Moore is a Middle East Analyst and Deputy Team Lead at the Institute for the Study of War, where she focuses on Iran and its Axis of Resistance in the Middle East. Her expertise includes Iranian-backed actors’ political and military campaigns across Iraq and northeastern Syria. Johanna has published several works on the Israel Defense Forces’ campaign in Lebanon and Iran’s control over the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces.
Johanna holds an M.A. in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security from American University in Washington, DC. She earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and International Relations, specializing in Foreign Affairs, from High Point University in 2020. She also studied at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco, where she participated in the Study Abroad program between January and May 2019.
