Young Scholars Program
Young Scholars Program
ISW launched its Young Scholars program in 2008. Aimed at developing and educating future foreign policy leaders, these scholarships are designed to enhance the analytical and practical skills of talented young intellectuals, allowing them to gain hands-on experience independently researching international public policy. Our goal is to train the next generation of foreign policy leaders.
ISW pursues recently graduated intellectuals with an active interest in national security, who have demonstrated their thirst for knowledge, talent for writing, ability to conduct independent research, and willingness to learn. As part of this model, we support our youngest staff members in publishing their work in their own names, which is unusual in Washington. ISW’s experienced research staff mentors and directs the papers of new scholars, ensuring that their research is relevant and accurate.
