The Humanitarian Impact of Conflicts in the Middle East

Event Date:
June 18, 2019
Location:
New Canaan, Connecticut

Join Grace Farms Foundation and the Institute for the Study of War in New Canaan, Connecticut on June 18, 2019 (7:30-9:00) for a discussion on the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and their importance to U.S. national security and values, including human dignity and freedom.

Terrorist organizations like ISIS and al Qaeda and states like Russia and Iran are driving conflicts across the Middle East, causing humanitarian catastrophes, compounding governance failures, and exacerbating violent extremism. Our program will discuss how the U.S., its allies and partners, and non-governmental organizations must develop creative, enduring solutions to help solve the resulting political, security, and humanitarian problems.

At this event, which is open to the public via advance registration, ISW President Dr. Kimberly Kagan will moderate a discussion with ISW Board Members General (Ret.) David H. Petraeus and Former Senator Joseph Lieberman and ISW Director of Research Jennifer Cafarella. Rod Khattabi, Director of Law Enforcement & Risk Officer at Grace Farms Foundation, will introduce the discussion and panel.
