ISW Announces New Senior Staff Members
WASHINGTON, DC – The Institute for the Study of War is excited to announce three additions to its senior staff, including a new Communications Director to manage press relationships.
Stephanie Swierczek has signed on as ISW’s Communications Director. She brings several years of communications experience to her new role, including three years as the Director of Communications at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC. Some of her responsibilities at ISW include media relations, brand management, and website and social media strategy. John P. Williams joins ISW as the Chief Operating Officer. Before coming to ISW, John was a Program Manager at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He is a twenty-year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was the Deputy Director of the Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies at the United States Naval Academy. He also served as the Associate Chair of the Political Science Department and taught courses on armed groups and irregular threats to national security.
Jessica D. Lewis is ISW’s new Research Director, where she manages ISW’s research portfolio, research staff, and senior fellows. Lewis joins ISW following eight years of Active Duty service in the U.S. Army. Her military career includes multiple deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, where she provided intelligence support to tactical, operational, and theater commands. She holds a B.S. in Strategic & International History and International Relations from West Point and an M.A. in Strategic Intelligence from American Military University.
