Madiha Abrar

Madiha Abrar is the Human Resources Manager at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), where she is responsible for managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, organizational development, transformational projects, training and development, performance management, employee relations, payroll, talent management, HR strategic planning, compliance, and HR regulations. She has worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the Embassy of Australia, the International Monetary Fund, and other corporate agencies in the United States and abroad for over a decade.
In collaboration with senior management, she conducts strategic human resources planning to support and further the company's objectives. Advising companies on effective human capital management practices is her specialty. She also develops plans to strategically integrate effective HR processes, programs, and policies, and scale people operations from the ground up. She can lead multiple projects, integrate innovative measures in a cross-functional team, and promotes inclusive and diverse workplace culture. Madiha leverages her cross-cultural knowledge to quickly build positive relationships.
Ms. Abrar received her executive Master of Business Administration degree from Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology in Pakistan. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Data Management and Communications from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management in Virginia as a qualified Human Resource Management Professional (SHRM-CP). Born in Qatar, she has lived in the Middle East and worked and studied in Asia and the United States.
