Elsa B. Kania is a Non-Resident Fellow in Indo-Pacific Security with the Institute for the Study of War. Her research focuses on Chinese military strategy, defense innovation, and emerging technologies. Elsa is also an Adjunct Senior Fellow with the Technology and National Security Program at the Center for a New American Security, and she is currently a PhD candidate in Harvard University’s Department of Government. She recently published The PLA’s Evolving Outlook on Urban Warfare: Learning, Training, and Implications for Taiwan under ISW’s Military Learning and the Future of War report series.
