Caroline Nicholson is the Education Programs Associate at The General David H. Petraeus Center for Emerging Leaders at ISW. In this position, Caroline oversees ISW’s internship program and supports the Hertog War Studies Program hosted by ISW. Previously, Caroline was the Assistant Events Coordinator at the Asia Policy Program, a joint initiative of the Clements and Strauss Centers at the University of Texas in Austin, where she planned and executed public speaker events. She also supported the Clements Center for National Security’s student programming.
Before graduating, she studied U.S.-Korea relations at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea in the spring of 2021. Caroline was an undergraduate fellow at the Clements Center for National Security, where she had the opportunity to participate in the center’s London May Term program at King’s College London and in summer programs at the Hertog Foundation, including the Hertog War Studies Program in 2020.
Caroline is currently pursuing her Master’s in Security Studies Program at Georgetown University, where she is honing her writing skills for national security and expanding her academic knowledge on the recent history of the Middle East; her research interests also include the Korean peninsula and its relations with the US, Indo-Pacific security & strategy, and world war history.
Caroline received her Bachelor’s in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2021.
