Map Series

Bailey Pasternak is a Middle East Researcher at the Institute for the Study of War. Prior to joining ISW, he interned with AEI’s Critical Threats Project. At AEI, he conducted research on Iran and its regional activities. His work focused on Iran’s political, military, and proxy networks in the Middle East.

Bailey has experience in open-source research, policy writing, primary-source analysis, and military and strategic analysis. He is proficient in Hebrew and has studied Arabic.

Bailey holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. He also holds a Master of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS. His graduate coursework focused on security, strategy, and statecraft in the Middle East.
